The land at Woolwell is located within South Hams District on the northern edge of Plymouth. The area of Woolwell acts as a gateway to the city and to the National Park beyond. Submissions by Barwood led to the Woolwell site being allocated as the largest residential-led development within the Plymouth and South West Devon Joint Local Plan. The allocation has the opportunity to deliver significant new homes, infrastructure and open space. Rockspring Barwood Plymouth Limited have subsequently submitted two outline planning applications for 2,000 homes with a variety of tenures, a new country park , pursuant to the allocation masterplan, to South Hams District Council for determination.
