We control the majority of North Devon District Council’s Local Plan allocation at Westacott, which is one of its most important allocations to meet their identified housing needs in the next 10-15 years.
We have engaged closely with the Council and other stakeholders to bring forward an outline planning application, supported by a comprehensive masterplan. We anticipate the application will be considered by North Devon District Council’s planning committee during 2021, before we market and sell the site to homebuilders.
The site is adjacent to the North Devon Link Road, which is the main arterial road link from the M5 through to Barnstaple and the North Devon coastline. Devon County Council, as highway authority, is bringing forward a major improvement scheme. Our site land which is required to deliver a new roundabout that will improve the safety of the junction into Landkey village. We have incorporated that into our scheme proposals and have worked with North Devon Council to secure over £1m government funding to bring forward the delivery of that access.
