In 2018 we achieved a grant of outline planning permission for up to 170 dwellings on an unallocated site of 13.32 ha on the eastern edge of Sileby, in response to Charnwood Borough Council’s shortfall in their published Housing Land Supply. The scheme included up to 170 dwellings included with associated open space, landscaping, an extension to the cemetery, new allotments, access, surface water attenuation and conversion of existing farm buildings. The residential scheme was sold to Davidsons in 2019. Separately we submitted a reserved matters application in respect of the conversion of the existing buildings. Both schemes have been granted detailed consent and the development is now under construction.
In January 2023 we achieved a grant of planning permission for a further phase of development for up to 175 dwellings on the adjacent unallocated site (7.97 ha) which will be accessed from the previously approved Phase 1 roundabout and associated spine road, in response to the Council’s latest Housing Land Supply shortfall.
