A Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE) at Earl Shilton is allocated in the adopted Local Plan for up to 1,600 new homes, a minimum of 4.5 hectares of employment land, a new primary school, retail, and community facilities. An Area Action Plan (AAP) was also adopted for this site. Barwood Land has been working collaboratively with Bloor Homes and Jelson Homes to promote the majority of the land – up to 1,500 dwellings and all the facilities within the SUE. Bloor and Jelson Homes have a joint outline planning application for up to 1,000 dwellings.
Barwood Land submitted an outline planning application for up to 500 dwellings and associated infrastructure in March 2023, and this is expected to go to Planning Committee in Spring 2024.
